What To Expect
Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine
The spectacular tunnel of thousands vermilion torii gates is so famous and picturesque. These torii gates were offered by worshippers in appreciation of the good fortune they received from the deity enshrined here. Why don’t you, too, offer a prayer and change your luck?
Arashiyama
The renowned bamboo forest with its subtle hues of green and the sun slanting through has an exceptional beauty. The rustling of the leaves and the creaking of the trunks softly swaying in the breeze have a very relaxing effect. It’s an experience that you shouldn’t miss while being in Kyoto.
Ryoanji Temple
This temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, houses the world famous Rock Garden, which was once praised by Queen Elizabeth Ⅱ. Though the garden itself is quite simple and small, only with rocks and white gravel, it can give you philosophical and spiritual inspiration.
Kinkakuji Temple
This famous Zen temple is an icon of Samurai culture. Although it is a very popular tourist destination, the unique sight of the Golden Pavilion is well worth a visit. You can get wonderful pictures of the gilded building and its beautiful appearance reflected in the pond.
Nishiki Market Shopping District
The Nishiki market, which has been popular with the people of Kyoto for 400 years, has 126 shops lined up in a 390-meter long street. Kyoto’s peculiar vegetables and pickles are sold and you can taste some. Let’s enjoy the walk while imagining the eating habits of the people of Kyoto.

Inspite of the scourging August heat, the tour went excellent. Our guide Satomi was very mindful of us and always accommodates our requested breaks. She made us feel like locals – we liked riding the public transportations. We also get to experience food at Nishiki market. Best of all, she gave us recommendations on where to buy good matcha tea and the bowl set. Overall, your getting the best of Kyoto in a day. Thank you.
