Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a venerated temple founded about 1,200 years ago, is perched on a hillside in the east of Kyoto.
It is one of the most famous and popular temples in Kyoto.
From the large veranda in front of the main hall which is designated a national treasure, you can command a panoramic view of Kyoto city.
The entire structure is also known for being built completely without the use of nails.

Stop At: Gion, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Kinki
Geisha are an important part of traditional culture.
Let’s stroll around Gion district where beautiful, old-style houses are preserved.
If you are lucky enough, you may encounter Geisha or Maiko (apprentices) dressed in gorgeous kimono and wearing high wooden clogs that make a peculiar sound on the street.

The spectacular tunnel of thousands of vermilion torii gates is so famous and picturesque.
